Over 100 Russian food manufacturers took part in the international SIAL China 2018 trade fair
For the first time in history, the Russian joint exhibition booth ranked second in terms of area and number of participants among the national pavilions.

One of the world's largest international food exhibitions SIAL China 2018, which was held in Shanghai on May 16-18, gathered participants from 30 Russian regions within the framework of the Made in Russia Pavilion occupying over 1,300 square feet. The Russian delegation included over 500 people, consisting of representatives of food manufacturers, members of the delegation of the Russian Export Centre and the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation.

Russian manufacturers presented the most promising export items: meat, grain, flour, liquor drinks, as well as unique products, including vegetable oils, nuts, honey, snacks and confectionery products, wild herbs, black caviar, etc. The exhibitors also included leading manufacturers: Miratorg, Cherkizovo, Uniconf, MAKFA, RusBioAliance, Akkond, as well as medium and small businesses operating in niche segments.

A separate pavilion was devoted to alcoholic products: wine from Crimea, Rostov Region, Stavropol Territory, vodka and brandy products, beer and unique liqueurs.

The official opening of the booth of the Russian Federation was attended by Alexey Evsikov, Consul of the Russian Federation in China; Valeriy Boyko, First Deputy Chairman of the Government of Omsk Region; Dmitry Krasnov, Director of Department of information policy and special projects; Ruslan Tsargush, Director of the agribusiness export support of the Russian Export Center; Semen Katrenko, Spokesman of the Russian Export Center in PRC.

At the booth of the Russian export Center presentations of the Tomsk, Omsk, Smolensk Regions and the Altai Territory were held. Omsk Region participated in the exhibition with a separate exposition, presenting the most interesting products for the Chinese market: confectionary, flour and alcohol products.

Within the framework of the exhibition, a number of formal events related to issues of access of the Russian goods to the Chinese market, in particular the Panel Discussion on the Aspects of Food Exports to the PRC and EAEC, which was organized by REC in conjunction with the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs.

In addition, Russian exhibitors participated in the tasting and match-making sessions - in two days, the manufacturers held over 400 meetings with potential buyers, distributors, as well as representatives of Chinese procurement companies. Interest in the products of the Russian manufacturers is obvious, upon the results of meetings, negotiations are held and new contracts have already been concluded.

In the framework of the exhibition, Semen Katrenko gave a presentation on the promotion of Russian agricultural products through the tasting and exhibition pavilion in Shanghai, which, together with the REC representative office, is included in a single format of the abroad presence.

Broad representation of Russian manufacturers was made possible due to the support of the Russian Export Center, which implements the concept of state support for exports. It allows manufacturers to reach new markets and actively develop international business relations.
